MY FAVOURITE THINGS TO BUY ON AMAZON

MY FAVOURITE THINGS TO BUY ON AMAZON

I figured since we’re all at home, with nothing but time, that I would share some of my favourite things that I’ve purchased off Amazon. Whether you’re looking for beauty products, or some tech gear to step up your Instagram game, I’ve got you covered!

I’ve made it easy for you to shop my picks, just click the photo!

Beauty

During times like these, I am thrilled that I can find some of my daily basics online, and for a good price! I use these Neutrogena Makeup Removing Cleansing Wipes-Night Calming every night. They’re really gentle on the skin, and take off even the most stubborn eye makeup. Not sure what the difference is between this one, and their original, but I find the Night Calming works much better.

I am so addicted to Carmex! It may not the most pretty tube of lip balm, but I find it is the most effective with combating dry lips. If you live in Canada like me, you know how cold and dry it gets come wintertime. This one has been an essential in my purse for many years now.

I’m here to tell you that you have been travelling with your makeup all wrong! Don’t worry…I was too, until I stumbled upon this makeup case. When I travel anywhere, I want all my daily makeup to come with me, and if you’re like me, thats A LOT! This case holds everything!!! And what is also great about it, is you can customize by putting the dividers in where you like. I find this especially useful for organizing products based on category (face, base, etc.).

I love the Dr. Jart Dermask Micro Jet Clearing Solution Mask. I don’t have super sensitive skin, but I do experience breakouts and redness. I use regular sheet masks weekly, but these Dr. Jart ones are perfect for when my skin needs a little extra TLC. I love that it evens out my skin tone, and brightens, without being too harsh on the skin. These are definitely on the pricier side, but you get five in a package, and I find its worth it, as a “once every few weeks” mask.

Fashion

I haven’t been that thrilled with Amazon’s fashion offerings…I find a lot of the clothing isn’t my style, or isn’t a quality brand; but when it is a brand I love, I find their prices are way higher than any other online retailer! So I only have one fashion find for you…but if you have any pieces (fashion, jewelry), I’d love to know!

I have a lot jewels that need a home, and I have found that this stand from Umbra is perfect. I have other jewelry boxes, but I find this one very useful for displaying/hanging my everyday pieces. I also like that its not only functional in its design, but it looks pretty on top of my dresser.

home & Interiors

I love me some fresh flowers, but they can be expensive, and I also like changing things up with the seasons. Here are two of my favourite faux bouquets to spruce up any room.

I have been making more environmentally conscious choices over the past year, one of those being eliminating plastic produce bags at the grocery store. I bought these mesh bags for produce, or any loose items. With these bags, you can choose what sizes/quantity you want; I opted for the multi-pack.

If you don’t have an espresso/cappuccino maker like I do, a milk frother is your next best bet. This one from Louisware is great! I mean, I haven’t tried any other ones, but I’ve been really happy with the performance of this one. It works for any sort of milk, or milk substitute, and is super efficient. It’s battery powered, but clearly very efficient, as I have been using it for 6 months, and haven’t needed to replace them. Overall, I think this is a great, inexpensive way to upgrade your morning coffee.

Books

I certainly don’t read as much as I did when I was a kid, but over the past few years, I have been trying to read more. I’ve listed a few of my more recent purchases below, but if you want a more comprehensive list, let me know!

And yes…I’ve had a serious obsession with female comedians lately!

Tech

Not only am I trying to reduce my environmental impact, I’m also trying to limit Wi-fi signals around my house. For many years I used my phone as my alarm, but with the growing research on why this is bad for you, I really wanted to get an actual alarm clock.

I purchased this Wake Up Light from GRDE back in August, and I’ve been obsessed with it ever since. I especially like it because you can choose your alarm sound (I go for birds singing), it mimics a sunrise which allows you to wake up gradually, and you can set two different alarm times.

I feel like the best way for your Instagram photos to look instantly better, is good lighting. Unfortunately, sometimes natural lighting doesn’t work in your favour; so I recently purchased this table top ring light, and its been a game changer not only for my photos, but for applying my makeup. This one also comes with a tripod for your phone, which is super convenient.

If you’re like me, and have started filming videos, in my case makeup tutorials, you’ll want to get a mic. Now I have big dreams for when I invest in some serious filming equipment, but if you’re just starting out, this lapel mic is great.
