MY GO-TO MAKEUP PRODUCTS FOR GLOWING SKIN

Looking back on my makeup over the years, I definitely have had my share of cringe worthy moments. It took me a while to figure out that if I am wearing eyeshadow, and I don’t fill in my brows, my face just isn’t going to look right…proportions, you know? Makeup is a super scary thing! There’s always a product for everything, and with so many people talking about makeup, its hard (especially from a blogging perspective) to insert your voice into the conversation.

I have been a consumer of various fashion and beauty content for years now, its where I discover new products, and learn new ways to use the products I already own. At this stage in my makeup and beauty journey, I believe I have finally found my stride, where I feel confident enough in my skills, and feel free to experiment without too much fallout (literally…get it? Cuz sometimes your eyeshadow is too…ugh forget it!).

If you asked me three years ago if I could do a “glowy makeup look”, I would have started sweating, but now I know what products work for me, and have found my signature look.

I have compiled my list of some of my favourite products that I use to achieve radiant skin. Let me know if you try any of them, I would love to hear your feedback!

L’Oreal Paris True Match Lumi Glotion

I bought this product not even reading one review (which is rare for me), but I am so glad this impulse purchase paid off. I apply this after my primer to add an all over base glow to my face. It adds just the right amount of radiance, without looking glittery. I also use this on the days where I’m not wearing foundation to look a little more awake.

Benefit Cosmetics Watt’s Up!

This has a cult following for a reason. The Watt’s Up! from Benefit is a cream concealer that is super easy to apply, and is a beautiful champagne colour that creates a natural glow. If you want some serious cheek bones, this is your girl.

Farsali Jelly Beam Illuminator
in Glazed

If you want to step up your highlighter game, look no further than the Farsali Jelly Beam Illuminator. This innovative highlighter is unlike anything on the market. Its jelly like consistency applies like a liquid, but dries down like a powder. It took me a couple times to master this one, as you have to work quite quickly with it; I just dip my finger in a small amount, dot on my cheekbones, then pat & blend with my finger. It’s also on the pricey side at $50, but a little really does go a long way. So if highlighter is a key component to your makeup routine, I think you’ll find value in this.

This highlighter was also a random purchase. I was walking through Sephora, on the hunt to try out a new highlighter, and stumbled upon the Amazonian Clay 12-hour Highlighter from Tarte. I have always had great experiences with Tarte products, so I bought it. I have the oneshade Exposed, which is a gorgeous nude colour. I really like this product not only because it makes my skin look flawless, but it’s buildable. After I set my face with a makeup spray (listed below), I add a little more on top of my cheekbones to give it that extra oomph! Tarte also isn’t lying about the 12-hour claim; I still have rocking cheekbones up until I remove my makeup at night.

The NYX Dewy Finish Setting Spray is a product I have been using for a couple years now. I know that makeup setting sprays seem a bit gimmicky, but I personally notice a difference when I don’t use one. This spray locks in your makeup so it will last all day, while providing a beautiful luminous glow to your skin. I apply this after all my makeup is on, but before I apply eyeliner and mascara, so it don’t smudge. NYX also makes a version for all you Matte finish fans.
